THE FAIRYTALE

A Prince searching for love... A Queen wanting the best for her son... 

Only a true Princess would feel a solitary pea hidden under 20 feather mattresses…

A young lady and her carriage driver became lost in the rain midway through their journey on a chilly and rainy night. 

They sought shelter in the castle on the hill, where she had no idea she would be put to the ultimate test.

Upon laying eyes on this beautiful woman, the Prince immediately fell in love. 

The queen developed a scheme, fearful for her son's future and certain that this girl was an uncivilised peasant.  
A solitary green pea was placed beneath 20 feather mattresses stacked to the ceiling. 

The Queen was confident that this test would reveal the girl was neither a Princess nor a suitable spouse for the Prince.

The night drew to a close and everyone in the castle went to bed. The Princess climbed a ladder up, up, up, onto her stack of fluffy and luxurious feather mattresses.  She was exhausted and ready for a good night of sleep.

In the morning at the breakfast table, although she tried to hide it, there was no mistaking that the Princess felt dreadful.  She didn’t want to complain but she felt as though the bed was made of bricks and she was suffering from terrible aches and pains everywhere.

In that moment the Prince knew he had found his Princess.

And they lived happily ever after 💘
